Radiosity is a pretty antique technique.  Moreover, it's extremely
difficult to tweak to get good results (at least in Blender).

Much better methods exist now for doing GI computation.  Photon
mapping, for example.
Unless I'm mistaken, I believe there is a photon mapping
implementation being worked on right now?  So I imagine we'll see it
in Blender in the near-ish future.

Photon mapping + baking should cover all the use-cases that radiosity had.
