+1 for LMB select. I'm really excited that it's being seriously considered.
Perhaps if Blender could change the user's operating system to make all apps
use RMB for select, or Blender added so many features that it was the only
app anyone would ever need to use, then RMB for select might make sense.
But in the real world, it's better to make Blender a little more consistent
with every other app designed to work with a mouse.

+1 for radial menus.
+1 for not relying on the number pad.
+1 for shipping Blender with themes(classic blender, Blender 2.5, Maya, Max,
XSI) I also think those themes should include default panel layouts.
