Hi,

I don't see a reason for "global lists", such selections really should

off the top of my head, i think maintaining a current selection list will
probably help facilitate and simplify sync-ing contents of different
editors.
E.g having a screen layout consisting of a 3d view, outliner, action editor,
and buttons window or properties editor, when i select something in 3d view,
the other views are notified and they just access the current selection
list in order to refresh.

Also the current selection list can be saved as a selection set for complex
selections.
