hi,
is off-topic but decided to mention as cad usage seems to come up
relatively often and ppl have sometimes wondering about adding cad usage
support in py (something that 2.5 makes more feasible, as you can much
better integrate own tools?)
"pythonOCC is a set of open-source Python bindings for OpenCascade, a 3D
modeling & numerical simulation library."
dunno if it would be feasible to use that as a backend in blender via
the bindings, but perhaps interesting for someone otherwise.
