hi,
Im fairly (very) new to blender, but I have been coding in python for
awhile.
What im trying to do in my python script is this (in order):
1. convert/import a .obj (wavefront) file to a .blend file
2. Set the object in the .obj (now .blend) file to be a wireframe
(similar to the wireframe image on the top right corner in
http://forums.xkcd.com/download/file.php?id=4171 )
3. The rotate the object in the .obj (now .blend) file 1 degree on the
z-axis every frame. This will make it like a turntable with 360 frames.
4. Render these frames to a sequence of images (preferably in .png format)
Now, Im can do this easily in opengl and python's opengl API is pretty
good. But what I am actually after is to do this sort of a off-screen
rendering which I cant do in opengl+python and therefore have to look
elsewhere to render a wireframe turntable of a .obj file off-screen.
I was wondering i can do this in python using blender.
Any help is much appreciated or links to where I might find help on any
of these.
Thanks
PS: Im using windows to do this.
