My 2 cents: haven't played with it myself, but your suggestions do seem 
sensible and of course it's better to take the chance to fix API issues 
before they become part of a release.

And don't worry, as Ton wrote, the soon to come freeze means new 
features have to wait but bug and *feature* fixes are allowed.
