Definitely a good thing.

For those unfamiliair, Digital Elevation Model (DEM) files are common
and freely available in the computer mapping world.  They are
essentially a grid of elevations.

The .pdf doc for the script looks very nice.  Maybe we should either
distribute the .pdf or at least provide a link to it.
