[Bf-python] Grid subdivision

Hi all,
Last October Theeth added a patch (1) that added the possibility to
set a custom grid subdivision (2). I was wondering if it would be
possible to access it via python.
Campbell Barton already remarked (3) that it won't be as easy as a
simple getter/setter, since it's view specific.

Hence I'm asking over here: is it possible to add a way to access the
grid subdivision via python?
