[Bf-funboard] Feature Request: Selective Gaussian Blur

GIMP contains a filter I have been using extensively for manual 
post-processing on Cycles render, called Selective Gaussian Blur.  I 
have found that it has been very effective at noise-removal, especially 
compared to complicated Bilateral Blur node setups.

Would it be at all possible to implement GIMP's Selective Gaussian Blur 
as a built-in compositor node in Blender?
