[Bf-funboard] VSE metastrip colour

Currently it is hard to visually track strips in the VSE other than by
colour type. It would be nice if metastrips at least could let you define a
user colour for the media it contains. In this way I could group strips by
colour for scene or version or camera source etc.

Infact for versioning this would be very helpful.

Imagine using a metastrip to stack versions of a shot as they are
completed. At any time the director or editor could return to the stack
inside the metastrip to see an earlier version of the shot. They would
simply hide the higher stacked media. Aautomatically all the older strips
would track to the correct location within the edit as they are contained
in the relative location of the metastrip.

It would be cool to be able to allocate the metastrip's colour based on the
strip contents. For example as you add a new version of the shot the shade
of the User defined metastrip colour would increase.

Current work around is to include a colour effect strip at the bottom of
the stack, this appears as a line at the bottom of the metastrip in the
main timeline.

I wonder what tracking versioning Gooseberry are doing in the VSE?

Cheers
