[Bf-funboard] Bf-funboard Digest, Vol 90, Issue 20

I think you're misunderstanding me.

I'm not looking for a way to save and open the layout.

I'm looking for a way to show the SAME toolshelf, properties shelf across blender, making it the DEFAULT order,in a sense.
Saving layout doesn't change the underlying default panel order when you add new editors. (except if you duplicate a 3D view)

Basicly now that I think about it ,if I could just access the default panel order and change that,it would work fine.

Because if you don't do it like that, every new editor you open or if you change a curve editor to a 3D view ,those properties tools settings will be chosen based on the blender default and not on your settings.

So if someone could point me to a python script ,if this is handled by a python script,to manipulate the order,I think I could do that .

I still think there should be an option to save a particular order as default ACCROSS Blender (not only for startup file) ,without jumping through these hoops,as I think it would benefit other users then myself.

Kind regards
