Neal Connolly recently posted this new 2-axis manipulator mock-up.

Vino made a 2-axis manipulator and translator in his GSOC branch...

What do people think of these?

I think Vino's 2-axis scale is a little cleaner, but I don't like Vino's
2-axis translate much. I also think these are all sort of cluttered, and
perhaps not necessary.

The keyboard axis-constraints work well, even when initiating on the
graphical manipulator -- though they are hard to discover. Would increasing
the discoverability of the shortcut be enough?

One place this might be communicated is on the operator panel.. by adding
some typical constraint spring lines and icons between x/y/z, and then
adding hover-over tooltips showing the linked axis shortcuts. Though this
is also an awkward place to show the shortcuts, as they are only usable
during the manipulator modal-loop. Perhaps in the info line during the
modal?
