[Bf-funboard] "Individual origins" transform mode for edge and face selections

In edit mode, Blender treats all component selections as a single
collection of vertices. However, in edge and face selection mode, it
would be very useful if it recognized contiguous pieces of selection
and if transformations used the centres of those pieces in "individual
origins" mode.
Here's a video demo of what I mean:
Note how the scattered selection "islands" have their own transform origins.
Now that Bmesh is in trunk, can the current behaviour be revised?
