yup. grey dots are unprotected, black dots are protected armature
layers.
This is for using proxies (with groups) Protected layers revert to the
linked library, Unprotected ones don't (or use some special rules), so
you can add constraints, poses and I think even bones in unprotected
layer.New bones in unprotected layer still sync "in" if you add them in
library.
