I'd like to echo this sentiment. I'm not sure how it would work as my
understanding of Freestyle is that it applies itself to the scene as a
whole. However, I would prefer this method as it gives the artist the
greatest amount of control.
Plus, as I've kind of mentioned before, this could lay some (more?)
good groundwork for a generalized python-based shader language. Of
course, I'm not familiar enough with the intricacies of making that
happen, but from a big-picture point of view, it seems like it would
