At first i tried to do it with the straight compass directions.
It doesn't work so good for the layout.

It's much easier this way to integarte the items into a compact, 
even layout. If you don't believe me, try it yourself!

I don't think there is such a thing as uncomfortable angles for 
mouse movement. Everybody is moving the mousecursor in all 
directions all the time.

Even if it should be harder to get used to this directions, I think 
it's outweighed by having a cleaner and more compact layout.

Far as I know it's slower to mouve the mousecursor downward or to the 
left (for right hand). I tried to integrate that into my layout.
