Just a few Ideas on what I think the board should do. (this is my feedback
on the "FuBo" idea)
I’ll add more later, and I also want others to add to this as well, as
others I’m sure have ideas as to the role the FuBo should play.
My ideas:
#- Weekly IRC meet(s) (with coders sometimes). This will allow us to put
ideas forward for the FuBo here in the beginning, and in later stages allow
us to put ideas forward for blender.
#- The (larger) ideas that most (or all) of us agree on could be sent to a
poll, and/or a news item at Elysiun, and a news item here on blender.org for
general consumption by the blender-user masses. (This is for huge changes in
the interface, or usability I.E. modeling, animation features, etc.)
#- a site where one could upload designs/ideas that require their own page,
like cessen's material overhaul, could be published for us--or others--to
see, and comment on. We could improve each other ideas this way as well.
This could be setup as a part of a project page, however if I'm right that
would require some editing of the gforge/bforge code.
#- Our own forum, for feature requests by people in the community. Possibly
at Elysiun, or at blender.org, as I see it the features that should be
implemented are the features sought the by general blender using public.
There's also the area of "BugDome". Though there are not very many bugs at
this point, some do exist, and others will arise as new features are
implemented.
(I’ll add more to this when I get more ideas.)
We also must realize that releasing a full fledged professional quality
program into the public domain, when it is in version 2.x, with a very large
community is an experiment that has never been done before. We (the
community) can make this work, but only if everyone jumps in to help.
It's not NaN's job to keep blender going anymore, it's our job, it's
everyone's job.
