[Bf-education] What lights their interest?

What do you find engages kids? I am looking for new ideas. The
following have worked well for some of them:

1) model something that becomes physical through 3D printing:
Cups and trinkets like Pokemon balls are popular

2) make a video with CGI where they are personally in the scene. For
example, throw fireballs, green screen yourself into a 3D room you created.

3) using the physics simulation engines for smoke / fire / water. Lots
of kids like lighting Suzanne (the monkey) on fire or making her dance
to music. Strange but true.

I like to look for what they end up doing with the tools once they've
been shown them to get insight.

I'd like to know what types of things others have found excites students.
