Hi Piotr,

People are free to use the name Blender for their ventures. BlenderNation and BlenderCookie and BlenderGuru are independent initiatives too.

I also like to point at BlenderSupport.com.

Biggest problem with initiatives like this is to get a critical mass. You don't get that by just offering a website, you get that by having a person or small group of people working on it for a long time first... then the rest follows.

If this is the model then I don't like the idea. CGCOOKIE is then more open, allowing free content. But, as I said, I can misunderstand something... Please tell us a bit more :)

I am talking about www.blendereducation.com, a website targeted on private tutoring, mentoring, support and coaching. Special about this website is that there is not a team behind it, but rather that it is a platform for everyone to use. So anyone can become a student and anyone can become a coach. The website offers both parties a place to present themselves, offers the tools necessary such as fora, chat rooms, video chat, … and takes care of the administration and payments.

Anyone can apply for this ‘beta’ phase and use the website for free during this time (only the website will be for free, not the coaches). For more information and details, visit the website and the about section.

If anyone has students interested in learning Blender, then perhaps you can inform them of this website and they could participate in the beta during their summer break. (Please notice that they should be of legal age or ask permission from their parents before hiring coaches.)

I tried to make it as easy as possible to do this: just go to our facebook, twitter or google+ page and you will find a message that you can share and retweet or copy to other social media, mailing lists or fora. The more people spread the news, the more people will find the website and the more interesting it will become, so ask others to do the same.
