I teach Blender to kids.??Key display becomes very useful.? However, for starters, we use menus.
?
The menus provide the structure or groupings that helps the kids learn.? After they've learned a function, then the keyboard shortcuts make them more productive.
?
Two weeks ago, I had 12 kids in a summer camp (3 hours a day for five days).? I?did something new on our first try at box modeling.? I had the kids model a Nerf sword then animate it being thrown.
?
It seemed to have worked better than any of my previous attempts at teaching the kids to see and think in 3D then add the dimension of time.? Well, at least 11 kids did.? One went home crying!? He could not "see" it.
?
Anyway, next time, I'll have them explode a sphere on contact with the edge of their sword.
?
Yes, it's a take off on the death and destruction theme of video games.? I figure if I can get them "sold", then I can?lead them into "hard fun".
?

Helo Edwin

In teaching Blender to kids you may be interested in my FREE PDF Book, 'An
Introduction to Blender a Book for Beginners' available from my website:

http://silverjb.limewebs.com/Blender_Manual.html

Let me know if there is any problem with the site. I am in the process of
updating the introduction page.

I would be interested to know if the manual is suitable for kids and of what
age or if it could be written in a different way.

I haven't been to school for a long long time.

Regards

John Blain
