Hello Guys,

I think that a very simple tutorial will do the trick:

I already found that it is needed to use the turntable instead of the
trackball will make many maya users more confortable.
Possible to use the left muse button to select also.

could do a tut on that now but it is too small for a tutorial I guess.

What would be very nice if it does not really exists would be to have a tut
that do that:

   1. Adjust camera and selection to be more Maya friendly.
(Left mouse to select and turntable
I know it can hurt blender users but I use Maya since the 1.0 version so
   it's hard to change)
   2. Create a cylinder
   3. Create a plane to receive shadows
   4. Rig the cylinder like an arm with an IK
   5. Make a simple animation with the arm and edit the keys in the graph
   6. Create two lights
   7. Shade the plane and the cylinder
   8. Make a render test
   9. add soft shadows
   10. Make an animation with the camera to create a turnover
   11. Render 100 frames (360° for 100 frames)

This cover about all you need to have a clear overview.
And I think that all these steps for a blender master it's piece of cake.

With this a pro will feels quite safe to start.
This tut can probably attract many people I think.
I already know how to do step 1 to 3. But many will like to know also of
course. I needed some time to find out.
Mabye I'm too dumm ;P it's so simple.

Tell me what you think

Phil
