I've used Lego's large knights out of their Knight's Kingdom Collection and an artist's manequin (I think that's what they're called...those poseable wooden figures with spring joints.)

What I'm trying to figure out at the moment is whether to script or code a "scrub in time" feature. Rendering then playing the animation is a lot of overhead. So why not just scrub the timeline at a fixed framerate? If this can be done without any outside scripts or internal coding, please let me know.
