[Bf-education] 2.5 for Spring 1020?

Now that 2.5 alpha is out, would you think it a safe bet that official release 2.5 would be in time for my class in Spring 2010?

Last Spring, we based on 2.48 and used "Blender Essentials" for our textbook.  I suppose "Blender Essentials" will not be updated in time or ever.  So, I suggested to the Dean that we publish "no textbook required".  Instead, we'll use the online users manual.  Too bad. I required "Blender Essentials" as a means of paying back the Blender Foundation.  That's 16 -20 students every year purchasing a book from the Blender store.  Not much money, but it's something.

Ahhh, the challenge of keeping up with a constantly changing software package.  By the time a bound textbook is printed, it's obsolete.

Do you folks know if the Foundation is updating a form of electronic textbook with exercises and all that makes a textbook instead of a users manual?
