Hello Pragati Jain,

Currently, we have are having an issue with our version control software
and currently, it is not possible to download the repository until our
version control software
release the next version with the bugfix. Until then, if you want I can
give you a link
to a copy of the files via Google Drive or the like.

> Do we have a list of any active projects?

We have https://developer.blender.org/project/board/53/ although right now
the list is a little slim.
Over the next day, I will work on getting some more tasks on the list.

> Please help me get started..

You will want to start by reading
https://www.blender.org/manual/about/index.html
You can try to do as much as the steps as possible but you may get stopped
short
because of the for mentioned version control issue.

You will also need an account on https://developer.blender.org/

> Also, do we have any upcoming calendar meetups.

We do not have any official meetup because currently, only active authors
are me and a couple of others.
However, you can talk to us #blenderwiki on IRC Freenode. For more
information see:
https://www.blender.org/manual/about/contribute/index.html#contacts

I hope this helps,

Aaron Carlisle
