Glad you took my suggestions well.
Here http://www.pasteall.org/blend/11232 is an example that shows the
effect of Subdivide UVs, but the description also needs a refresh
with advise when to use it, hopefully someone else has some examples
of application.
I tried attaching the file but it seems that the mailinglist does not
like that - is there a limit on the size of attachments or are they
generally prohibited - I did not get any feedback from the server.
Just had a look at
http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Doc:2.4/Manual/Modifiers/Generate/Subsurf
[1] (see "Limitations & Workarounds") and I think that this section
could be adopted - normal direction is pretty important.
Some nitpicking:
- In the next to last sentence of the description, I would rather say
something like "There are two algorithms available: Simple
(subdivides mesh) and the default Catmull-Clark (subdivides and
smoothes mesh)"
- In Options/Subdivisions, it would perhaps be better to place"This
setting allows you to keep a fast and lightweight approximation of
your model when interacting with it in 3D, but use a higher quality
version when rendering." above or below view and render settings to
make it clear that this applies to the combination of both options.
