Hi all,
Did you all have a good Christmas?!
I've done a bit of work on the Manual today and wanted to share the
results with you:
* Integrated Jason's 'Blender History'
* Added the OCL and BAL license
* Added the 'What's Blender' section (copied from blender3d.org)
* Added a list of authors
* The HTML, PDF and DocBook files are now automatically published to
http://download.blender.org/documentation - this means that you can grab
the latest docbook sources there.
Other issues:
* Stefano, could you please integrate the rest of your Styleguide into
the manual? I think that later on, we should split things off again but
for the time being having only one document to work on should make
things a lot easier for everyone.
* I would like to announce the availability of the TOC to the community
on blender.org in an effort to mobilize more people. Is this ok with you
guys?
* What about the quiet people on this list? Aren't there any more
volunteers to work on a section?
* Who would like to convert the Python documentation
(http://www.blender.org/modules/documentation/225PythonDoc/index.html )
to DocBook?
* Who would like to convert the Graphics Card Compatibility
(http://www.blender.org/modules.php?op=modload&name=documentation&file=index) to DocBook? Currently there's a problem with that file, but blender.org's webmaster is restoring it for us now.
* The Foundation is *close* to having GForge (a SourceForge.net branch)
up and running. They still need to get CVS up and running. We'll keep
you posted.
* I haven't seen any reactions to Ton's post about the availability of
the 2.0 Guide to us and about the Publisher deal that has been offered.
What does that mean? :) No opinion?
* I want to start adding author names and email addresses in XML
comments to the code so we can keep track of who worked on what.
* I will integrate the documentation on the 3D Plugin this weekend.
