[Bf-cycles] how does point density works

Hi,
I got a simple question about point density texture
if it is in local space, then it will be exported once as a 3d image and
then remapped to the object bbox
what about global space? is it exported once? how it is used "for example
it will have a 3d texture, bbox, will it be like (if texture bbox inside
the object bbox, then use it as volume?)
or it is exported so many times? (depending on how many objects are using
that Material)
