[Bf-cycles] Cycles as Default Engine

Hi Thomas,

I'm quite unsure about this. I really love Cycles but its current lack of a
proper shadow catcher & the missing env light support in the shadow pass
(that is absolutely necessary for serious compositing work is making me
doubt) if we should do that already. If we like to make the switch when we
are "production" ready then I would vote against the change. If we can live
with compositing artists biting in the desk when it comes to compositing
live action with Cycles I'd say look if we can implement a shadow catcher
first.

I am teaching Cycles often but I would never stop to teach BI as well as
it's a very fast (esp. for MoGraph) and decent renderer if you know which
knobs to turn. It may be harder for beginners but I would vote for the
change only if we are feature complete. For me and my compositing buddies
(and I'm sure Sebastian is screaming out loud here too) is a proper shadow
pass support (including environment lighting, shadow catcher) a show
stopper.

Many greetings, Thomas
