[Bf-cycles] Best way to visualize Mist?

Currently there isn't really a good way beyond what you described. For
Blender Internal mist is a shading feature, for Cycles it's just a
pass, so it doesn't quite fit in the GLSL materials. I'm not sure yet
how that fits then.
