It was intentional, devs want to build strong design first for node editor from ground up. I feel the same way at first, but now i can let it go :)

It is now possible to use the 'H' key during grab/rotate/scale of nodes.

This should make it easier to attach nodes to noodles in narrow spaces.

The feature is available for all node trees (Materials, Textures,
