[Bf-committers] Blender Foundation is Khronos Group member

Hi everyone,

The Khronos Group is the most prominent force in the CG industry to 
develop and promote open standards. This is ranging from OpenGL to Gltf 
and Vulkan.

I found it of increasing importance for Blender contributors to have 
access to their resources. That's why I decided to sign up as Associate 
Member of the Khronos Group. We now can actively contribute to standards 
by participating in Khronos Working Groups.

Associate Membership means that the Blender Foundation can grant access 
to Khronos for 20 people.

During development of Khronos standards all discussions and technical 
proposals are kept fully confidential. This for obvious reasons - you 
find contributors from all over the industry; competitors are happily 
collaborating but they can only do if the area is safe and private.

For that reason Blender Foundation will also restrict giving out Khronos 
accounts to those who are currently under contract.
