I think you’re going to have a really hard time convincing people that that is not in fact a game engine, because that description sure walks talks and quacks like a game engine. 

I have some robotics applications I could use such an interactive mode for, but I cannot think of a single feature I would use which would not overlap with something useful for a video game. Even compiling a standalone executable would be useful if I want other people to be able to use it without knowing Blender.
