[Bf-committers] New Developer / small fix question

Hi. I'm a new developer interested in starting off with a small fix, but
I'm not sure if it's actually by design or is indeed a bug. It has to do
with the discrepancy between texture names in the properties editor and the
names in the paint slots in the tools panel while in texture paint mode.
Should I create a bug for this and move on from there, or should I carry on
this conversation somewhere else? In either case, sorry for the intrusion.
