[Bf-committers] [Bf-viewport] render-layers and clay-enginebranches merged in blender2.8

As all developers don’t know the details of each change in UI for 2.8, maybe would be good idea that each developer adds a small video with the basic usage of the changes implemented (new layer system, clay render, etc). You could update video if something change “a lot” during development.

A video or animated gif of few seconds would be enough and will help a lot to others developers to test new features. ( You could do a wiki page, but sometimes is faster a video as fast how-to use)

Cheers,
Antonio Vazquez

PS: yes, I will do for new Grease Pencil features 😊

A few things need to be fixed ASAP to make 2.8 usable:
- select objects in the (non-clay) viewport
- visual feedback during object transform (G, S, R)

LucaRood made a temp-blender2.8-stable branch that excludes these merges so
other people can continue working. Any work there will be merged back into
blender2.8.

FYI (everyone) the clay engine does not work on Mac or Mesa. Expect it to
crash! Windows or Linux with vendor drivers are the best platforms for
testing. Once we finish the GL upgrade to 3.3 core profile it will work
everywhere.
