Having to watch those nasty videos even for basic tasks is plain outright dull.
IMHO this is one of the major annoyances when attempting to to learn blender:
you are forced to watch hours of video, where some nice guy just stutters along
and tells you "hi, don't be afraid, it is dead easy".

If you got a text, you can read it diagonally, just skim it and spot the
relevant parts easy. This is not possible with video or podcasts.

So the additional pain for the creator (writing is harder than talking,
and describing an interaction in understandable language instead of waiving
around with the mouse is even harder) really pays off for the user here.
