David, would your idea be some kind of Volume Mixer, but without a master
(yet, I hope)?

It would be better to disable not available strips at the current time, so
the user has better feedback about what strip to change:

And we can go on and to add the left options Mute and Pan:

I think it could help a lot the Meta volume issue. A master volume control
also would be useful. What do you think?
