[Bf-committers] 2.67a proposed fixes

There is a small (but relevant) fix that I'm still planning to do/commit.

Basically to revert the UI part of this commit:

I just got a report from a user stating that his project files work much
better without Occlusion. I think his file is the exception, but still,
worth addressing. I will tackle that somewhere after lunch, UI work
requires a full stomach ;)
