[Bf-committers] Materials Library for Blender

Hmm... For cycles I would rather store the material nodes and their connection state in some sort of XML file.
The problem with staying in sync with features can be avoided by adding the blender version to the material file. 
I think we won't remove features from cycles in the future, we rather add them.
Material setups and node groups could also be saved by using a part of the blend file code... 
Together with a decent library interface in blender and some meta data this would be very cool.
We could ship some example materials but we shouldn't ship a whole library at release.
An online service might be cool but I would rather support a "download and import to lib manually" procedure.
