Hi,

A "Default" is a misleading word for this feature. What is "default render resolution" or "default color" even? Do you mean you want those values from your startup blend then?

What we do have in Blender code is an "Initialize" value. Such values are often arbitrary, and not often useful to restore to. And certainly not to name them "Default".

For more complex UIs (like simulation settings) we can much better use "presets" instead, to ensure a system itself is working on a predefined & tested way.

In case of very obscure settings that have a very narrow definition in general (time step particles) a tooltip can also clearly mark what it means, and what sane input values are.
