It isn't. There is much more complexity that would also need to be
unchained from a raw image.

If we were to attempt and add a Variable Number of Gradients (VNG),
Patterned Pixel Grouping (PPG), or Adaptive Homogeneity-Directed (AHD)
interpolation approaches, they belong in a node and it likely suits
Blender's file loading more appropriately[1].
