I think that this is pretty clear, http://tearsofsteel.org/ mainpage 
says: "“Tears of Steel” – project Mango – is Blender Foundation’s fourth 
short film project, with the sole purpose of improving and validating 
Blender’s open source 3D VFX pipeline." That is the first sentence. ;-)

Also they only have about 2 weeks until the premier, so improving the 
website is definitely not their first priority I bet.
And please keep in mind that this here is a development mailing list.
