there is no difference between building from inside QtCreator or from
the command line with cmake/make, QtCreator just calls make.

To get up and running quickly you can turn everything off (all cmakes
WITH_* options), this way you can enable featuters when you have some
time to get the dependancies working properly.

to test this quickly on linux try run this from blenders source dir:
 'make lite'
