K think the whole appeal of the open source nature should be just
that. Nobody knows what youtube video will go viral, nor what open
source project. So be the pick and shovel of the open source community
is the branding. Blender gives you the free tools, and has developers
and docs to give you the ability to alter those at suggestion, so you
can be the next youtube viral hit.

It's a hub of creativity, and blender is the utensil, so the logo, is
just a part of the whole it provides at the whims of it's 'consumer'
base.
