I don't think we should be prohibited from making a change because of
a screenshot. I'll try to explain my reasons:

The legacy empty is cluttered. All that XYZ information is hardly ever
needed and when you do need it you can use the manipulators to check
the empties coordinate. (legacy empty is older than the manipulator
even).

The legacy empty is visually shifted to only the positive sides which,
with lots of close together empties ends up making selection and
recognition difficult

In the few cases you feel you actually need to see the positive axis
arrows theres always the option to set it that way. It's not that I've
removed it
