Maybe we need to start executing the plan a bit and judge the rate of
progress before this can really be nailed down.  At the current rate of
progress I would have said that we were 4-6 months away, but recent
signs show the pace may be increasing.

Yes! Please, let's switch to using bug tracker, for all the reasons you
just stated. And also so that testing artists don't have to just post
bug reports in BlenderArtists or mention them in IRC and have one
of us move them to TODOs or something.
