As already told on the list before, I'd hope we could combine our
efforts instead of having them fragmented like this. The kazachstanian
Dyussenov brothers did most of the original code, but since they are
pretty much busy with other work, I've more or less assumed ownership of
the code. I've done the reorganisation of the code into it's current
shape (albeit that I'm still not happy with it). Martijn Berger and
Wenzel Jakob have both been providing patches to improve the code, and
Jeroen Bakker has offered to help here as well.

It'd be very nice if you would consider putting your effort into the
current code instead of writing new code. Yes, there are shortcomings in
the current  code, but most of them are pretty easily addressed - we
just need manpower with time to work on it.

On the other questions, I leave it to the armature gurus to respond.

Either way you choose to work, your efforts are of course very much
appreciated!
