I think I'd rather have real-time 3d view editing, then 2-3 frames per
second but an accurately updating properties window :) IIRC the
property editor was a major speed issue second only to the dopesheet
editor; fancy UI drawing code tends to be too slow to do full-window
refreshes, which is why editors are not supposed to trigger bunches
and bunches of cross-editor updates :) Or that was the original plan
