[Bf-committers] Reviewing normal patch (finally)

Hi all,

There's like a dozen reports in the tracker about normals not  
rendering OK; this has been mostly caused by the patch from august  
2009. Although it gives much better results for procedurals, the  
changes in UV and Image sampling are inferior in many cases.

- AA is bad (it doesn't check for pixel derivatives
- it doesn't scale (distance, or object size)

One "good" thing then; this is with Full OSA material:

However, render time of this picture (no raytrace) is 48 seconds...

Really needs to be solved! I've got difficulties understanding the  
patch though, it has a lot of uncommented calculus.
