At this point, there isn't that much hard things to do on the python side of things, aside from polishing the web interface and the blender UI integration (although if you want to help with that, that would be excellent too). What I'd need most at this point are additions to the Blender/Python api.

That would be excellent. I'd be very interested in seeing how well the master server behaves with a larger number of slaves (if it can keep up or not) and how well the balancing algorithm works with such a number of slaves and many jobs.
