Being a writer myself, I can imagine the nightmare trying to explain
the highly confusing terminology, and a non standard keyboard
operation, in an article or book (or in classes), just as other things
have been pointed before. "Click" is "pointer click" and has been for
decades, modifier keys change other things and just that.

There must be a different word that can be used (tap?) and even so you
declare mouse motions are allowed (so it becomes a drag in that
case). And the changing the long stablished function of modifier keys
is debatable.
